My Lord of the Rings Extended Version marathon went off last week and – man – what a wild ride it was. We were probably all as physically exhausted as Frodo was by the time he got to the top of Mount Doom. The party actually started the night before when my friend Ben came and we made cloaks and watched some classics in the epic genre – Aleksandr Nevsky and Henry V. Ray Roy came by too and we all played Scrabble and drank tea.
The next morning everyone came by on time and we had the first of our seven meals – Irish oatmeal and bacon. The movies started at 10am. They would not end for over 12 hours. People came in throughout the day – there were never more than 12 people and never fewer than seven people. We ate like hungry Hobbits and saw these amazing movies. The running commentary was insightful – it was pointed out that Legolas says stupid things and that Aragorn is hot.
This marathon was such a success that I want to have other movie marathons – Planet of the Apes, Die Hard, Star Trek, Star Wars, and Indiana Jones. Other upcoming parties I am planning are a cards-playing party called “Gin, Whisky and Rummy” where we will play cards and drink whisky and a Napoleon themed party – maybe on March 1 the beginning of the One Hundred Days

Valhalla We Are Coming!!!!!! by you.
